Performance:   Sonics:
I just got this CD from Japan. The performance of the concerto is marked by a distictive silvery tone and really fine intonation with a vibrato that does not get in the way. Kino lets the violin speak without any hint of strain. Apparently Kino had his fantastic violin given to him by Ruggiero Ricci when he had some lessons from the famous virtuoso. Quite a remarkable compliment!
The cadenzas are not Kreisler or Joachim and I don't recognise them, but they are terrific and make a nice change. The F Major Romance is particularly beautiful.

Performance:   Sonics:
I like this performance for the quality of the solo playing and natural phrasing. The orchestra sounds great, particularly the bassoon which is my instrument.
The violin sound is particularly pure and I have listened to this CD on my MP3 in my gym workouts.
Well done Japan. Great stuff!.
