First I thought what an idiot idea to bring out dance to a SACD. But after I turned it on, it started making sense immediately. SACD can drive the bass speaker so much better than a regular CD can do. You can turn this disc way louder than the cd and keep everything comfortable to the ears.
Also great that you can put visitors to your party in the sound thanks to the 5.1 remix.

This is not one to listen from your big sofa, but it sure gives a new dimension to partying.

I didn't know anything about this group but saw some reviews and bought it from Amazon UK. Now it's one of my top five favorites. These guys hit all the bases from dance to reggae to tear jerking ballads. It's got some great tracks and I'd buy it even if it was just regular CD now that I've heard them. The surround mix is subtle but still effective.

Needless to say I ordered there two other CD's and enjoy both of them also.

Groove Armada Ė Love Box

Love Box is the second album by Groove Armada to be released on SACD.

Groove Armada is dance oriented ďbandĒ. Well they are not really a band, they should be described as DJís.
The fact they are DJís is clear when you listen to this album, lots of beats, tight baselines, and a weird mixture of music.
This album has it all, soul, gospel, rock, dance and ragge muffin. So very much a blend you would expect in a European club on a Saturday night.
And thatís why I like this album so much, reminds me of going out, getting drunk, dancing, hitting on girls and waking up with a head and/or heartache.
The wide range of music also makes it a great party album when you have a party at home, it has something for everybody on it.

Even though the SACD layers is clearly better than the redbook layer one should not expect sonic heaven, itís clearly not compatible with the musical style of Groove Armada. The extensive use of samples and artificial drum and baselines are not what one would call audiophile sounds, but thatís not the point. This is party music and what this disc does prove is that party music is fun and can sound pretty great on SACD.

Sorry no information about the MCH mix, because I donít have a MCH setup.
