Performance:   Sonics:
This is a must have disk for any jazz lover. The recording is great, lots of air around each instrument and overall great sound, as you might expect from chesky. The band is really together, as if they were old mates, which they are not. Ron Carter really shines.

Performance:   Sonics:
G. Coleman ts, M. Stern eg, R. Carter b, J. Cobb ds, Chesky 2002.
The four greats, each of them has played with Miles Davis once, play nine tracks Miles has composed or played mainly in the fifties. But they are sounding very modern, especially because of the very special sound of Stern`s electric guitar. They are playing live with audience and they are playing fantastic. The interplay, the soloing – great! Thrilling improvisations! And listen! The drummer was 73 years old at the recording date. You won`t believe it. And the saxophonist, 67 years old, wasn`t very much younger. Unbelievable. That`s passion! And experience that resulted in some great jazz at that session. Luckily it was recorded by the Cheskys.
The sound is perfect, rich of colour, very good soundstage and imaging, air for the instruments to breath, very dynamic, brilliant.
