I bought this disc to have a SACD MCH setup disc - which it does quite well. MCH tests include: Pink noise, Phase, and LFE tones at 10 Hz intervals. The manual includes a simple to use guide for understanding how to use the disc and improve your system. An omission is the full frequency ... more |

Well, I am very late to this party, but wanted to weigh in with a highest of recommendations for album. Don't know how I missed it, but am I glad it finally found me.
Pros: Ahhhhhh, where do I begin :) I am completely mesmerized by that girl. On this disc we get to two cuts: a studio and 45 ... more |

Short and sweet: If you're a rock and roll fan then get this classic Aerosmith disc. The sound is absolutely fantastic, especially considering when it was recorded. Most albums of this era are compressed to lifelessness - but thankfully not this one. Totally involving 30 years later, great MCH with ... more |

Quick review. This is a fantastic sounding MC disc. No compression, full bass, extended highs, crystal clear vocals & piano. I'm with Chromal that it's very odd to see something called "news" have no updates in years. And there have been many new titles and players released since 20007 which used to be tracked in the news. Not a big deal, I wouldn't want maintain it or pay for it either.
Perhaps a simple title change to "History," "News Archive," or just plain ... more |

"Sony missed a chance to provide a full 5+1 set of analogue outs on their SA 5400ES; it only has two-channel DSD conversion on board and stereo outs. I wonder why? Cost, complexity?"
Yes, cost and complexity/ease of use. I see this as a positive, not a negative. MCH via HDMI is obviously a less costly way to go: one cable, one DAC (OK set of DACS ... more |
