I'm not that familar with Depeche Mode.
I mail ordered this SACD, but thought I received the CD version. There's no mention of SACD on the front. It just says CD + DVD. On the back, there's a very small SACD icon. The booklet shows nothing.
But start playing the disc, and the surround sound is ... more |

I like Phil Collins, but I've never heard this album before. I am familar with a couple of the cuts however.
It uses the real approach to surround in that the vocals and instuments are mainly from the front speakers.
Overall, I like the album and am glad I bought it. It has an OK sound quality. I ... more |

I've always liked this album and have the RBCD which I've always thought as one of my best recorded CDs.
I am amazed by the SACD version. The drums sound real. They have impact and definition. The trebble is almost as good--just not perfect. It lacks a little definition and extension. I appreciate ... more |

I'm not that familar with the Allman Brothers. I knew this was a highly regarded album, so I took a chance and bought it.

I'm somewhat biased. I saw The Who live in 1968 and have always liked them.
Still, I've never owned this album -- until now.
Unbelievable 13 cut album -- with 17 bonus cuts!
I'm impressed with the clarity of the music. You can easily hear the individual instruments. It's not a crystal clear ... more |

I think that 4.0 or 4.1 multichannel in the car is a natural. Unfortunately, the better speakers often are the rears.
I wonder when SACD multichannel will reach the car. ... more |

I bought my SACD player almost 3 years ago when there were only 3 players (all Sony) and less than 100 SACDs. That was the time to wonder if SACD would survive. I now have no question that SACD will survive. It may not supplant the CD this decade, but it's clearly more popular than Gold CDs, 96/24, HDCDs, DVD-A, etc.
By the way, I think DVD-A ... more |

For me the number of SACD owners and SACDs have reached a critical mass. There's already more SACDs available than I'm willing to buy. Don't worry about the number of users. Just enjoy your SACDs and participation on the Forum. ... more |
