After being fascinated by her Bach and Tchaikovsky recording, I bought this one. Fischer/Kreizberg managed it again. Both great and not-so-great players have recorded these works in their own style. Notable recordings of them have been made by Henryk Szeryng, Yehudi Menuhin, Jascha Heifetz, and Nathan Milstein to name a few. But there's no definitive one. I just ordered it on the strength of your post. THX :) I wanted to like Fischer/BFO but... No gravitas in the 1st movement(Like Rattle, Fischer doesn't seem to aim for it.), bland Andante, Remmert's straight singing in Urlicht, and look-at-me gestures like overstated articulations here and there.
