Sony SCD-CE595 (analog), Oppo 980H (HDMI), LG BH200 (Blu-Ray/HD-DVD over HDMI) Onkyo TX-SR605 Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 speaker set. Usually use the Sony for SACD since the Onkyo can't decode DSD. The Oppo I use mainly as a utility player. |

| Pop/Rock on SACD doesn't sell, you can tell because it's easily available cheap used. Wait a minute :) I agree that classical (and Jazz) are in some ways a more hospitable ground for high-resolution audio, with a fanbase which often has more disposable income and a particular ear for sound quality. | Actually, while a SACD of Paranoid was planned, they instead released it as a regular DVD with the quad mix in DTS (not even a DVD-A) as part of the 3-disc set. The sound quality on the quad mix was not very good, and it was apparently sourced from a vinyl source, not the master. That said, the RBCD discs in the set are fantastic, so it's still ... more | |
