Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here        (31 of 32 found this review helpful)

Just finished listening to it. Unbelievable. Every fan of multichannel audio should have this SACD. The best two tracks in my honest opinion, in terms of how they were mixed, not in song preference, are Welcome To The Machine and Have a Cigar. All the crazy effects in Machine are placed so well and ... more

I was so happy when I finally got my hands on a copy of this. It took three tries on ebay for a seller to send me the actual SACD as opposed to the DSD mastered RedbookCD. Both failures I knew instantly from feeling the jewel case in the packaging as opposed to the digipack. AGAIN! THE DSD REDBOOK ... more

This is probably my favorite Stones album. I've never heard the lyrics to Sway so clearly as on this SACD. 100% worth buying. I have to agree with analogue, play it loud. The whole thing sounds great. Amazing instrument separation, Jaggers voice sounds clear as if not forced in front of the ... more

I have to agree with the previous reviews saying how the multichannel tracks are really L/C/R oriented. Don't get me wrong the surrounds are apparent just not aggressively mixed at all. More for ambiance I feel. The front sound stage just sounds so full and clear, awesome instrument separation. I'm ... more

You have to take this SACD for what it is. It is a SINGLE, so for people who say what did I just buy? Well, you knew it was a single, if you wanted more Stones than a single is obviously not the best option and your negative reviews and malcontent are spawned merely from your misconceptions ... more

You can also choose to have it output pure DSD. When I hook my laptop up to my Onkyo receiver, which is not often cause it is a pain, via HDMI, I choose the SACD plugin to output DSD. Works fine. ... more

Yea that is what I was referring to. You use a program like ImgBurn, any disc image writer will do really, to take the SACD Iso and burn the image to a DVD-R. You are 100% correct though, the Oppo does not play SACD Isos or DSD files via USB or Esata. I've heard great things about the Mytek. The only reason why I would not get one is because my ... more
