This Stevie Wonder release is very near and dear to my heart. Besides Songs in the Key of Life, this was one of the albums that really got me open to Stevie Wonder at a young age. As with the other Stevie Wonder SHM-SACD titles released so far, I was especially excited about this release in ... more |

I would have to agree with the first reviewer on all accounts. I also splurged on the Immersion set which includes both the 5.1 and 4.0 (quad) mix. This multichannel mix on this release can be both subtle and aggressive at times, but the balance is just right and not overbearing to either extreme. ... more |

This classic has been reissued so many times I hardly know where to begin, and I've heard most if not all of them (listening to it right now). I can only say that the MoFi SACD is most likely the best this album will sound. What MoFi brings to the table is subtle warmth and depth that rivals that of ... more |

Not sure if this will be a fair review. I was only a passive JT listener until I got this SACD. My new appreciation for all things Carole King led me to explore more of James Taylor's recordings. With that said, I can't compare this to the original LP, cassette, 8 track, reel to reel, CD, mp3... so ... more |

The 5 star rating is for the content of the disc and the sound quality of the mastering. I own Songs in the Key of Life on vinyl LP, the original Motown/ Tamla 2 CD set, and previously the AF gold disc. Imagine this: would you rather have creamy smooth full-flavored ale or a Budweiser? The SHM-SACD ... more |

analogue is a nice guy, and I generally agree with most of his reviews, but I'm just not hearing the same thing you guys are hearing in this case. This is easily one of the best SACDs currently residing in my collection, both in terms of music and sound quality. I finally got a chance to listen to the much coveted and highly regarded 35DP-4 2 ... more |

My three cans: Grado SR-60, SR-325is, and Audio Technica ATH-M50. Although generally considered "rock" headphones, I find my Grados best suited for jazz, easy listening and classical. The ATH-M50s have been seeing a lot of use lately and they are a good all-around performer. They are my go-to cans when I don't want to disturb those around me ... more |
