Not much needs be said about the artistic merit or historical importance of Poco's seminal "Pickin' Up the Pieces." Keep in mind that the SHM-SACD uses the original mix, while the MFSL is the Yoko-approved 2000 remix, so that alone might account for some of the differences you heard. In this case, you aren't really comparing apples to apples. ... more

I have the disc, and at first, it sounded just a bit bright but otherwise pretty good. Maybe not worth the $45 I paid for it, but still decidedly above average. Personally, I don't find a neglible price difference between SHM and redbook. Usually the difference is $15-$20. And for that price gap, I'll go standard redbook almost every time. But that's just me. ... more
