There are a few songs on here which I've always thought; I should almost melt, but it's just not quite there.

I just melt into the chair when I listen to 'Woman' for example.
Heck. I've melted on the first bar ... more |

Masterpiece.
Dynamic range - by the bucket load
Sound stage - Hypnotic
Transients - thought my speakers might pop
Subtle detail - hairs on the back of the neck
Analogue - I would have believed it wasn't digitised
Compression - absolutely not

While it does have a warm sound ....

It just doesn't exite me.
Probably it's just me, but there it is.
I am looking forward to the SHM-SACDs Universal Japan releases;

Is there any chance you could review 'Rush: Moving Pictures'.
You posted a 'will review when it arrives' but not a review ... yet.

The Azur 752BD user manual talks about Dynamic Range Control:
There are 3 settings on, off, auto:
"Auto – Play at the dynamic range specified by the disc. This option
applies to Blu-ray Discs only. For other disc types no dynamic range
compression is applied."
I didn't know a blu-ray could specify a dynamic range !
Surely the "Pure Audio" ones ... more |

I should correct myself. The Dynamic range control is not ON by default, it's 'auto'.
from user manual:

applies to Blu-ray Discs only. For other disc types no dynamic range
compression is applied."
... so I guess for SACDs etc it will be OFF - just as I like it. ... more |
