Here is an excerpt from a review of this performance (released in stereo only on the Regis label- but its obviously the same recording)in todays' (27/10/05) Music Web reviews: "Schmidt's Sibelius 5 is monumental and indomitable. Excellent full bodied surround sound on this one. This programme is redolent of Sir Malcolm Sargent or Sir Adrian Boult and the youngish British conductor Christophert Seaman does his illustrious predecessors proud in this excellent Vaughan Williams programme that includes 2 great masterpieces.

Rasmussen: Orchestral Works - Lintu        (2 of 2 found this review helpful)
  October 15, 2005

The sunlight glitters on the vast northern ocean as a panorama of sea and sky unfolds with dramatic percussion over blocks of string, brass, woodwind and even some human voices. A truly stunning record which utilises the surround sound capabilities of sacd to the full.
