Is this the best Scenes from Swan Lake album? Well I also have a Karajan RBCD of the same which I do love and I could think of some phrasing on Karajan that I prefer but the performance is still excellent. Well I'm hooked. Another excellent artist in the Linn stables.
I always worry about comparing artists to their peers so I hope Maeve is not insulted when I say her music style reminds me a little of KD Lang (at her best).

I purchased this from ebay quiet a few weeks ago so it has been well played.
It opens with probably the best version of 'Summer Time' I have heard. Superb orchestration with Louis trumpet sets the scene and then Ella's stunning vocals just blow you away. PLAY IT LOUD!. The sound is just fantastic. ... more |

I completly disagree with Audiofreak. This is a well engineered SACD, frankly one of the best I have heard. The clarity of this disc is superb.
Musically its one of those albums that grows on you. Its very laid back and I think Sara K can sometimes sound a bit like Annie Lennox though the music ... more |
