I'm not at all familiar with these works besides Eine Kleine and I don't like Mozart too much, so I'll leave the performance rating blank.

Getty piece here isn't really my cup of tea and it seems to be quite odd companion to the Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. Anyway, it seems to be well performed and the story of Joan of Arc is always interesting. The bells at the end are very weak so the finale is too polite.

Very laid back music, good for background music, but the album gets boring after several listenings. There's only half an hour or so material on the album, plenty of room for bonus tracks which weren't included at all.

As the linear notes states, there's something magical about this album. It's a jazz album which I'd recommend to anyone, even to those who generally don't listen to jazz.
Sonics are great considering how long ago this was recorded. MC mix is pretty good, it has really been mixed for 5 channels ... more |

Sonics are quite good, improvement over the original rbcd is considerable. Anyway, the sonics aren't as good as in most more recent sacds. I liked the mc mix, it was a bit aggressive at times, but not over the top at any point.
