Performance:   Sonics:
This is a truly wonderful disc. The music is delightful, the melodies quite memorable. The instrumental players are well accomplished in their art and the harmony singing is precise. This is world class folk-art music.

As far as sound quality is concerned I have auditioned the stero SACD layer which is stunning. I have listened to the red book layer which is also quite amazing, which shows just how well this recording has been done.

The intruments and voices are as near live as you could possibly hope for and the string tones have a richness of detail rarely heard. The recordings have a genuine sounding natural acoustic and imaging is absolutely precise.

You will just keep playing this SACD; the music is enachanting and the recording flawless.

Equipment used: Sony SACD player, Crimson 710 preamplifier, Crimson 640S power amplifiers, Living Voice Avatar loudspeakers.

I have already visited Scotland and Skye, more particularly. I'm kind of familiar with this great music and those traditional instruments.

The recording here is great in terms of compositions, choices, performance and sonics. It is varied, it gives you a qualitative view on this music, which is profound and divine.

The engineers have done an awesome job in recording the instruments and the great vocal parts of the Mackenzie sisters.

I would strongly recommend this SACD to any traditional music lover. You can't be disappointed.

I prefer buying few CDs but making the right choices ;-) This is one was a top choice !
