Performance:   Sonics:
sorry to be less than enthusiastic but I was looking forward to these discs as I enjoy Spanish music...The passion and fire seem to elude this pianist.especially from the start ..I do have more interesting performances and recordings of this and similair music....Not struck on piano tone either...Double disc in a standard type case...DSD recording....just over 90 minutes mediocre very studied type playing..not even a bonus piece....doesnt capture much , if any Spanish spirit , sorry ..doesnt help when you are playing this in and its currently snowing.........Dave

Update and corrections,,,,,The playing time for the pieces as follows. Disc 1 Iberia 1-3 49.58" Disc 2 Iberia 4 .....26 minutes....Navarra 6.55" Suite Espagnole 41.31"...
I should add that my major beef was with Iberia the main work..Ive tried playing the other works first,,,.The performance of the Navarra & Espagnole is slightly better.IMO. Dave

I do not agree with your opinion.
I found this disc very well recorded. But the performance is especially interesting because it goes further into depth and feelings more than other more brilliant hispanic performances. Besides has this interpretation a lot of colours.
I think it is worth buying it in order to understand that Albeniz was a kind of french hispanic composer, with a lot of connections to Debussy etc...
