Well Im even more enthusiastic than Castor about this "Landscapes" disc.3 different Picture postcards by French Impressionists that make an ideal partner to Bissies Sseascapes.Agree totally with previous review and that the stereo and playing is top rate and already my disc of the year which is going to take some beating.
These three different colourfull ,Scenes,Impressions and A suite each hardly played often even in Europe and previous recordings were hardly plentifull. All very melodic and all 77 minutes .46 seconds an excellent addition to the sacd catelogue. There is a whole lot of music like this which could be recorded by these composers but I doubt if it would be any better than this.If anyone cannot derive great pleasure and a smile from most of the music then they need treatment..Proper sacd case, decent booklet but poor title.? BUY without hesitaton. If only all discs were like this.10 stars minimum.

I fully concur with the other two reviews: this is excellent music, easily accessible to even a casual classical listener. Any pop or jazz fans interested in "trying" classical would enjoy this. It is, by turns, exciting, then serene and soothing, then rousing, but always tuneful and colorful. The orchestra plays the living daylights out of it in every respect, and it is all captured in stunning, truthful sonics.

Please, please, support labels like this that release such an excellent product of lesser known but thoroughly worthwhile music. This is the very stuff that SACD does best, and it deserves a large audience.
