This is my first review here, and there is a reason why this is the first!
I find Coopers play absolutely mesmerizing on this glorious restored instrument. He really understands this music as far as I can judge.
The sound is as good as it get and I can say this with some degree of certainty because I was there.
A friend and I where invited to come listen to the recording in the Doopsgezinde Kerk in Deventer (the city where we live) in 2008. I did not know what to expect and was a bit intimidated being so close to the instrument/mics(scared to cough).
Afterwards Jared Sacks showed us the recordingequipment and later we joined Cooper for a beer in a local pub.
So I am a bit biased? Maybe.
But I still think this is as good as it gets; this disc is one of the best diabelli-variations on fortepiano I have heard on cd or sacd.
Sound is like allmost all Channel-sacd's. Mr. Sacks did his best to produce another amazing recording.
Highly recommended
