Well, perhaps that one will be a jewel and temper all the ones who were disappointed with Yes: Close to the Edge ?

I was not disappointed with Close To The Edge - I thought it sounded brilliant. It blew the Hdtracks version right out of the window - on my stereo at least...

Well, the Close To The Edge SACD wasn't 100% perfect, but it is far better than my CD version, and slightly better than my LP, so I wasn't disapointed at all !

And this new SACD is a good news, cause Going For The One contains the best Yes' track ever : Awaken !

I have the HDtracks download of this and it sounds decent. Can't wait to compare with the SACD. I'm sure it will sound much better than the download.

I am a bit worried about this release......especially when I have heard to CTTE just yesterday again and find my major objections about it:

Ricks synths from both channels simultaneously
Bills cymbals bloated and pushed back
Chris bass too heavy (Preacher the Teacher) - is that inevitable after some years of too bright RBCD remasters?

and mainly lack of separation of all instruments - the whole recording sounds like beatles dual-mono from mid-60s.

Well, at the end of the day, it all depends on the quality of your SACD player and your DS player...

My experience is that the SACD has a much fuller bass - which I like. Playing the DL and SACD side by side, the DL sounds awfully thin. The bass guitar at the beginning of And You And I - you just can´t hear it...

I don´t agree with any of that...

I have many downloads and the same on SACD and so far SACD sound way better than downloads.

Believe it or not, when compared to other SA-CD stereo only releases like TALK-TALK: Colour of Spring or Spirit of Eden, for example. CTTE sound mediocre (pure direct DSD to analogue). Try TRUE by SPANDAU BALLET or DARE by Human LEAGÜE, pls

You should compare it to other versions of CTTE.

The CTTE SACD easily surpasses all the versions of CTTE I have on CD and vinyl.
