If folks want to hear this, the world premiere is at the Princeton conference on Pink Floyd, where James Guthrie will be playing all 3 of his surround PF & RW mixes - DSOTM, WYWH, and the new 5.1 mix of Amused to Death. More info: https://pinkfloydconference.princeton.edu/

Bonus: Gives an excuse to visit the Princeton Record Exchange, who will be having 20% off all Pink Floyd media.

Oh, and the date. It's this Saturday, April 12.

OK, thanks to Onenairb's post and link (/showthread/118090//y?page=first) we now know it will be released on September 23rd, 2014.
Good news, as there is a date at last. Given the article, I really look forward hearing this disc.

We should be impervious to such negative diatribes by now.

I've had Amused to Death on order since it was announced.

Now it's 5.1...........worth the wait.

As much as I am thrilled with the SACD of WYWH, the 70's Parson's quad mix of DSOTM is the way to go. Shame they couldn't have done an SACD of that one through AP when they did the Immersion, but very happy to have the 24/96 4.0 PCM version as the difference between the previous unmastered DVD-A leak and this new properly polished up version defies words.

Still, that would be a very cool event to attend as no doubt they'll have the room and the system they will use dialed in, as they did for the WYWH premiere Chad organized that Guthrie also attended.

I'd rather have The Wall on SACD. Any progress with those tapes?

A gushing review of what would seem to be a revelatory 5.1 mix premiered at the Princeton conference;

LOL. Like this review "The premiere of James Guthrie's 5.1 surround sound mix of "Amused to Death" can be fully described as follows: un-fu****g-believable; the end."

An absolutely fabulous article and in Guthrie's own words: ALL the Pink Floyd catalog will eventually get a 'proper' 5.1 release.

Thanks for sharing, Dead Man!
