Alright then, finally some news albeit not great news. I'm just going to cut and paste from the Brain Damage Facebook page;

I know many of you are extremely eager for this release, but frustrated by the delays. Thanks to Rohan Dunt, we have a new update from Acoustic Sounds regarding the SACD/vinyl of Amused To Death: "There has been issues with the artwork and other problems during this process. At this time we are hoping for Spring of 2015. This is not a set timeline, however."

Some time before the heat death of the universe I hope. If this release takes any longer I'll have gone multi-channel with my system and be able to listen to it in 5.1, but don't keep delaying it on my account!

Thanks for the update, Dead Man.

After the pretty packaging that accompanied Endless River could we expect less from diva Roger Waters?

Perhaps a pale blue Tiffany box with the pretty blue bow?

Yes! Thanks for the update, Craig!

I was starting to fear the worst. Let's hope they can iron out any differences about the artwork and other problems. Hey...I can enjoy the fun, psychedelic imagery and stuff of Floyd as much as the next person. But... at the end of day, it's the music that counts, right!

And... Knowing how much you love Pink Floyd, I do hope you get set up for multichannel and are able to listen to Dark Side, WYWH, Division Bell and Endless River in all their surround glory.

Peace, Brett

Pale blue? Not for Roger, it'll be a dour black. How much more black can you get? None, none more black. Special artwork/packaging is becoming quite the issue at the moment, it delayed the BD-A and DVD-A releases of The Endless River in Australia for nearly a week. I heard it was because they wanted some kind of 'eco-friendly' packaging which wasn't in huge supply, especially given the demand for the album.

Damned hippies and their 'earth' thing, I'm buying your music so I can forget how miserable the rest of my life can be, don't make me wait an extra week for it! Perhaps we'll get our Amused To Death SACDs/LPs in unique carbon-neutral hand-drawn sleeves complete with imperfections, proof they were crafted by the honest, simple, hard-working indigenous peoples of... wherever.

I'll just be happy to get it.

'eco-friendly' packaging ... why, do they think people are going to throw theirs out someday?

That's not the first time that artwork and packaging has delayed an album reissue in 5.1.

Several years ago one of the reissue labels was preparing a 5.1 release by a less than well-known artist who would become better known when the 5.1 edition of the album was released. This artist delayed the release due to the materials being used on the album jacket cover and lack of the same feel of the cover on the 5.1 edition vs. the CD digipak edition.

Sometimes it isn't the music or the sound that holds things up.

Just visited Acoustic Sounds website where they still list it as 5.1 multichannel and "Arrival date to be announced."

Where did you get this info, runkeldunk?

I read it on a local dealers fb page. The Vinyl (sorry for mention it) edition is comming on columbia and the sacd is still AP. I don't think it is allowed for me to post the link on this page. but there is something about the matter on elusive disc hp.
