A friend of mine spoke to AS and they told him its still coming out by June. they haven't updated the website. At this point I'll believe it when I see the disc in my hand. Waited way too long.

Hoop, I notice the link to AmazonUS has disappeared from this site. Have had it on pre~order with them for about 1 1/2 years ($26 back then: list $35).

Hopefully, it's a glitch....but who knows at this point?

They always said Waters was a "difficult" person to work with.

I joke maybe we'll get The Wall on SACD by 2018!

My pre-order is still there from Amazon. If this gets canned, I can live without it.

The Multichannel SACD edition is still on track for this summer, most likely June, as I mentioned a few weeks ago per Acoustic Sounds.

Look like ATD is coming out on CD/Blu Ray with 5.1 in July.

An unblinking look at an entertainment-obsessed society, Amused to Death addresses issues that have only grown in complexity and urgency over the past two decades. With Amused to Death, Roger Waters sounded the alarm about a society increasingly – and unthinkingly – in thrall to its television screens. Twenty-three years later, Amused to Death speaks to our present moment in ways that could scarcely have been anticipated two decades ago. In 2015, television is just one option in an endless array of distractions available to us anytime, anywhere, courtesy of our laptops, tablets and smartphones. With eyes glued to our screens, the dilemmas and injustices of the real world can easily recede from view.

The 2015 CD + Blu-ray edition of Amused to Death feature a new 5.1 surround remix of the album on high-definition Blu-ray audio completed by longtime Roger Waters / Pink Floyd collaborator and co-producer, James Guthrie. The art has been updated for 2015 by Sean Evans, the creative director of Waters’ 2010-2013 “The Wall Live” tour and movie.

indeed, I see that the vinyl (based on same Guthrie master from analogue tapes) is coming out 24 July. So, SACD can't be far behind. But The Wall would be more welcome.

James Guthrie has been backin the studio re-mixing Roger Waters aclaimed 1992 album Amused to Death. The re-mixes include both a 5.1 surround sound version and new stereo mixes. What is intriguing is this re-issue will be released on both Blu-ray and SACD, allowing all high resolution audio enthusiasts to access their prefered version. For some this is a no brainer, given that Pink Floyd's Wish You Where Here album was released in all formats, with critical aclaim going to the SACD version.

Additionally, a vinyl version will be available, although it was previously reported to use the original mix instead of the new 2014 mix by Guthrie. We look forward to additional clarity on the release which Sony Legacy had stated as: "The new mixes, along with additional never before released content and brand new graphics, will be included in the reissue releases from Columbia/Legacy Recordings and Acoustic Sounds."

New scheduled release date: July 24, 2015.

Looking at the release slate I see four different packages I'll need to buy. Need the SACD (whenever that's released) and BD-A, and both vinyl sets. All around the time the next Led Zeppelin box set/s will be demanding of my bank account. Better start saving the pennies folks!

In the new video interview with Roger Waters he talks mainly about the concept of the recording of course.
Towards the end he goes into great detail about the vinyl pressing, admitting that he does not even own a turntable. He talks about how the vinyl stereo sound envelopes you with a great overall experience.

Then he talks briefly about the 5.1 surround sound also being released as if it is nothing, a by product of this whole reissue.

It is disappointing to me that it is very clear the surround sound, or SACD, or any kind of discs that carry a better resolution then vinyl is at least to Roger Waters, the artist, not as good as vinyl.

I am certainly not against vinyl, but dissapointed that Hi Res Multichannel is not getting it's day in the sun.
