Ha ha. Great review.

I don't know how it is that Adam Fischer can be so right in Haydn and yet such a freakshow in Mozart. When it comes to Mozart symphonies, Fischer is the Glenn Gould of conductors: willfully bizarre mutilations combined with jaw-dropping virtuosity inflicting great abuse on the music. And yet, it's all weirdly fascinating too, just like a circus freakshow.

Having seen Adrian's superb alternative review, I'd certainly say that, if such a description appeals to your stylistic preferences, you'll not find a more stimulating account of either work on SACD.

I would recommend sampling as much as possible because I suspect the reactions will be (like Adrian's and mine) rather polarised!
