Dear Forum Members,

I have attached a picture to this message. It provides you some statistical
information about the sacd releases. It gives me a great pleasure that
the average number of the new releases has been increasing since 2009.

I would like to express my gratitude to Zeus, the Colleagues who
help him with maintaining this home page, the reviewers and last
but not least I wish a Happy New Year to everybody in this Forum.

With kind regards
G. Szeidl
(alias RedFox)

P.S. My sincere thanks to Yoeri Geutskens for helping me to upload
the picture.

I continue to be amazed at the quality of the sound and performances I am hearing on my SACD purchases.

I continue to be very excited about the format, and I look forward to filling the blanks in my collection as I can afford them.

And my own thank you to Zeus for this site as well. You have cost me much money ;-))

Thank you György for the beautiful numbers. It is comforting to know that there are so many superaudio discs NOT already in my collection, and I can forget for just a moment that I haven't listened to some which are in my collection since they first arrived....

Your numbers are indeed lovely, but there is one little adjustmet perhaps to be made:
If you go to Recent Additions and select Country, you will see Raff: Symphony No. 2, Four Shakespeare Preludes - Järvi in the upper left corner*. Therefore the 2013 Classical count should go up by 1 to 5895 (1734 new titles), and the Country count should go down by one to 27 (a laid-back country-style increase of 1 title in 5 years). I hope the Country folk are not dismayed by their short list of titles -- perhaps they are pleased to be able to "collect the whole set" on a modest budget, something we classicists cannot contemplate.

*I notified Polly Nomial of this oopsie last week but hey! it's holiday time for everyone.

Thanks for the reminder - I meant to do it but obviously failed to click!

Thanks Polly.

Perhaps a few copies of Beethoven's Sixth could be put out to pasture in the Country side?

Thank you Beagle for your message and remark. You are absolutely right as
regards the country releases. I have, however, not checked if a recording
is there where it should be. This would take me too much time.

It would give me a great pleasure if the number of the country recordings
were much higher. I have no idea why the country labels (for instance Rounder)
do not release new (or old) recordings in sacd format. The prices on amazon
seem to be ridiculous -- Alison Krauss: Live (sacd) is EURO 782 in Italy,
and USD 274 in USA.

I've seen that Alison Krauss SACD for sale regularly on eBay in the $100 price range.

Here's a perhaps less detailed but more visual overview of releases per year. Pretty comstant.

The Concord Music Group purchased Rounder Records in 2010 and is now distributed by the Universal Music Group. The only hope, IMO, of seeing Alison Krauss released again in the SACD format would be via Universal Japan on SHM~SACD (which have released 4 SHM~SACD Jazz titles on the Telarc Label, another Concord Music Group label).

I will try to add more Japanese pop and Chinese pop SACD titles into the database....even only I have more time available. In the meantime, in the below link, here are almost 70 SACD titles I have that are not listed at sa-cd.net:
