Viagra can help too.
Euell, perhaps you should add a little Peter, Paul and Mary to the Neverno homestead playlist to spice things up a bit!

RBCD for that is good enough for me. Not necessary though for making beautiful music (together).

Actually, Euell, having owned PP&M in various formats over the years, the SACD IS a revelation and is well priced {a ManCave Fav}....but the upcoming AP stereo SACD remaster of PP&M's "Album 1700" should be an absolute stunner both musically and sonically.
As far as coming with a supply of Viagra.............dunno!

I bow to your expertise as to both PPM recordings and Viagra.

Hoffman certainly has done some nice things with what he's released, but in the end he hasn't really done the painstaking work I see in others who have taken old recordings and cleaned them up for better consumption.
As for my rudeness, I have been followed by someone who shall not be named to other forums and then emailed in a confrontational manner about what I said there. That's rude.

From what I read, SAM, Hoffman does pretty straighforward transfers from the Original Master Tapes with little or NO manipulation.
I admire his rather purist approach but even I sometimes wish there was a little more bass or a little extra oomph in his transfers.
But if it was NOT the artist's original intent I guess I could always turn up the bass or treble a bit (but really like to play my system FLAT).

I don't play the box; in fact, I don't even keep those slipcases. I just hope the sound is great.
Well I didn't play the box either but what I have heard from the sa-cd is unexpectedly fabulous and I'm not exagerating. Honestly I was not expecting the wonderful resolution, staging and fullness of sound.
I really thought this would be just a reasonably decent repro of the old tapes but I was so wrong. This disc brings PP&M into your space with a presence that is almost too real. I can't wait to sit down and enjoy the whole album. Don't pass on this one if you really enjoy the music of PP&M!
