I avoided this release because of the lackluster sonics of many of these early Atlantic recordings. OOP but actually sporting pretty amazing sonics was the Quadradisc 4.0 "Best of Aretha Franklin" released on a DVD~V (DTS 4.0) by Rhino a few years back.
If you can find this release without paying whacky prices and have the capable playback equipment, it comes very highly recommended!

The first 2 cuts are not very good sound wise but the rest isn't that bad, not the best from Mofi and usually compilation isn't going to be as good as an actual album.

Hoop, do you have the Rhino Quadradisc? Played at a relatively loud volume, it ROCKS big time with a pretty convincing surround envelopment. Chain of Fools is amazing!
