Discussion: Historical Organs and Composers 4: Mendelssohn: Sonatas for Organ - Lehtola

Post by Lute August 1, 2014 (1 of 1)
Although Mendelssohn is not known for organ music, his Six Grand Sonatas composed in 1844-45 were influential in the development of organ music in 19th century Germany. His admiration of J.S. Bach can be felt in these beautiful works, which (while forward looking) have their roots in the Baroque.

Wonderful performance by Jan Lehtola and excellent Mch sound by Alba.
