And the show continues... Breathtaking performances from Lindberg and NSO! What do you think?

I'll tell you once it's released in the US!

Very much looking forward to getting this one. John - should I hold off buying until you've had a chance to listen? :=)

I'm not waiting, based on the superb quality of the previous releases I've already pre-ordered.

Very funny. :-) I actually ended up repurchasing the two I sold! I decided I like him again.

Do you like Pettersson's music? I think that it is quite similar than Shostakovich's or Aho's style.

I don't "quite understand" what you mean by "quite similar than"???

Well, I mean that his symphonies styles are similar.

I see almost nothing in common between Pettersson and Shosty or Aho. Pettersson has a style all his own IMO. I need to be in the right frame of mind to appreciate his symphonies but when I am there, they are quite special to experience. "Like" seems to be too trivial of a word with regard to Pettersson. Does one really "like" a vigorous, draining physical work-out where your muscles are screaming for oxygen? Probably not - but after it is done, there are lasting benefits and satisfaction. Thus it is with Pettersson.
