No word, as yet and there's still no word whether it will be an MLP DVD~A 5.1 as originally remixed for Warner's aborted NO show release.

Thanks Ralph, don't really want to pay £45 for all the extra's !

Am in total agreement, Rob but it seems the record companies know that surround fanatics are willing to lavish tidy sums on those 5.1 remixes and will buy it any way it's served. And the inclusion of Vinyl again. A bit absurd indeed.

Truth be told, they could fit ALL the RBCD content and the 5.1 remix on one Blu ray disc in high definition.

Has indeed been a busy 5.1 Surround week. Just received the Beatles +1 (2 BD~Vs/RBCD) today along with XTC's Oranges and Lemons (Steve Wilson 5.1 remix) and played the first DVD DTS 5.1 of Opeth's Deliverance/Damnation 4 disc boxset (Steve Wilson/Bruce Soord 5.1 remixes). Sound Quality is exceptional for DTS and even includes a hi res stereo track on both remixes. For Heavy Metal/Progressive Hard Rock fanatics.........like Markie!

QQ is abuzz denigrating Giles Martin's ultra conservative/non existent 5.1 remixes of the Beatles material and has disappointed MANY fans who are comparing it to the more aggressive LOVE 5.1 remixes. Quite a few QQ members are even sending the boxset back for refunds.

Will give that puppy a spin tonight (if time permits) so I suppose I, too, will regret the lack of a more aggressive surround approach. There seems to be little "LOVE" for this release!

Perhaps a lesson to pre~ordering these pricey boxsets sight and sound unseen until proper reviews are posted.

Nobody is really talking about it cuz so much talk with the Beatles, but Steven Wilson's remix of Yes, Fragile is absolutely perfect and is definitive and nobody will need to buy another unless they bring the band into your living room via holograms.

Funny you mention FRAGILE. I, personally, always LOVED the original DVD~A mix but have yet to play the new SW remix which I understand IS spectacular. Maybe I should give that one a spin tonight rather than the Beatles (and risk being disappointed).

Look into Opeth:Deliverance/Damnation (2 DVD 5.1/2RBCD)......that may just be your cup of tea (or Jack Daniels), Mark. A very immersive and heavy metal surround extravaganza. http://www.allmusic.com/album/deliverance-damnation-remixed-mw0002882987

For you Ralphie to watch my new favorite album and Billy Gibbons talk about it.

BTW: I double dipped and purchased the 24/44.1 via HDTracks, definitely worth the $5.00 over the 16/44.1 RBCD.

Great interview, Markie. Look forward to hearing this exciting new Billy Gibbons release. As his inspiration, Gibbons mentions the great Tito Puente and I urge you to buy this great sounding multichannel disc Tito Puente: Goza Mi Timbal. It's the REAL DEAL!

Used, Like New from $9.60 from third party Amazon vendors.

Cha, Cha, CHA!

Damn - the ebay seller sent me an email saying the Moondance CD/BDA had been returned because it was damaged in transit and I'll have to wait another few weeks to get another copy (unless I want a refund). I recently read somewhere else something similar happened, so I wonder whether this is a trick some sellers use to get the cash up front for items they don't have in stock, and will then place order from supplier. If so, that sucks!

I'm currently listening to Avonmore by Bryan Ferry and the smooth groves are easing the pain...

oops, wrong thread.

Question for concert video lovers, Ralph,

I saw a You Tube clip of ELO playing Live in Hyde Park absolutely great, so I went to Amazon and it is a BD~V but I also noticed there are a lot of ELO Live concert BD~V's.

Anybody have a favorite over the Hyde Park?

I've only seen bits and pieces of the ELO Hyde Park Concert but in the review over at BluRay.com it stated it's only 2.0 stereo hi res (NO 5.1 surround).

I do have the "First Light" ELO album in DVD 4.0 DTS/DD surround ....audio only with a flat 96/24 pcm stereo mix, as well. Available from AmazonUS/UK at decent prices. Also comes with a RBCD and over 2 hours of bonus materials. Worth checking out, Markie.
