Exciting incisive performance, but the RBCD is quite shrill in the tutties. I am curious as to whether the SACD remastering somehow has managed to resolve this problem, although not $50 curious.

$36 with shipping if you order it from Amazon Japan and about $32 if you order from CDJapan.

Let us know how it sounds if you get a copy. It is a favourite and his best symphony I think.

So, it's no longer "quite shrill" in the Tutti's?

And quite attractively priced @ CDJapan ($25.10) and after listening to the brief samples ........ a definite future purchase.

And Happy New Year to MM!

Still has a somewhat exaggerated high end, although some people like that. The strings definitely sound better in the tuttis than the RBCD. The dynamics are impressive as is the playing of the Liverpool band.
