Someone's wishy washy ones, are another's treasure.

Hi flyingdutchman,

That's right.

And, to canonical, you can always sell those wishy washy's on eBay or Amazon and use that money to buy more SACDs.

Come to think of it, I'm running out of space for all my CDs and SACDs. I need to go through them to select some wishy washy ones to sell.

Poop yesterday, fertilizer tomorrow?

Hi Euell Neverno,

Actually, a regular CD-ROMs will not become fertilizer until 500 years from now: http://mosaic.cnfolio.com/M528Coursework2009C111. Get rid of your unwanted SACDs wisely by selling them on eBay, Amazon, or your local second hand store, it's good for the environment and it's good for your pocket book. Oh, and it's good for the Postal Service too!

I donate them to the library and, when he wants them, to my brother.

Libraries here don't take them any more. I was going to donate them to my former employer and their library when I left there but to hell with them.

For me it's give 'em to the library or my son in law. I probably ought to clean up my library here on sa-cd.net, 20-30 titles listed there no longer share self space here. Still, if multidisc sets counted (I mean sets like the Silverman Mozart sonatas, not a two disc Mahler 6th) I'd still be pushing 700, enough so that even after culling about 25% of the rbcd collection storage is becoming a problem again.

Could that be a copyright issue? It's pretty clear that the music industry doesn't like the idea of lots of folk borrowing one CD...

Regarding another library count: current number of SACDs - about 500 classical and near 50 other at present. As to what I listen to, my electronics and subs are made here in the states - surround speakers are from the U.K.

Then why is it that libraries are stocked with CDs? If it was clear the music industry doesn't like the idea of lots of folk borrowing one CD we wouldn't have our local public and private libraries filled with them.

Possibly groups of libraries (in the UK it is a nation wide public service) have signed up with the music companies and have an agreement in place to source CDs from the music providers and are licensed to lend them to library users? For which they would no doubt pay a handsome annual fee.

If individuals offer collections to libraries this may well be a clear breach of any licensing agreements... ?
