The website I visit most apart from SACD.net, is pinkfishmedia.net - a forum that caters quite well for all genres of music, hifi, member and dealer classifieds and also has a vibrant Off Topic sub-forum for all chat unrelated to music and hifi. The membership numbers are very good and probably in the Goldilocks zone; not too many and not too few.

I used to spend a lot of time at AVForums, but it's become such a huge, sprawling site with so many sub-forums, that it doesn't seem to have a community feel anymore and even worse, is plagued with lots of advertisements. I still check out the music section from to time (along with Steve), but sadly there are only a few of us who seem to have a penchant for hi-res and multichannel music.

The other website I visit fairly frequently is liveleak.com - a website that's similar to Youtube in that the video content is member generated and shows the real world as it really is - warts and all. Sexual content is prohibited, but other than that, any video can be uploaded, including graphic content such as footage of the conflict in Syria, civil unrest in the US, and other main news events. Occasionally someone will post a funny cat video etc, but the main emphasis of the website is citizen journalism - news for the people, by the people, as captured on phones, dashcams, camcorders etc. If you want to see the real world, this is the place to go..

Where do you for music and other chat?

Thanks Samay, Musicwebinternation has a great write up on the Mahler 1-7 blu ray set by Abbado/Lucerne Festival Orchestra and although I hadn't seen it before, the review (quite rightly) speaks highly of the set and if I'd seen it before I bought it, it would have made me want to buy it sooner. I'm a 10% classical guy, so when I'm looking for new classical purchases, I'll do a search there too.

Derek, great thread, especially under the impending circumstances.

I visit High Def Digest (Blu Ray reviews), Bluray.com, Audiophile Audition, QuadraphonicQuadforum (QQ) and I still subscribe to Stereophile, The Absolute Sound and Sound/Vision.

Of course, I will miss the old SA~CD.net and ALL the comraderie I have shared with the various posters but I suppose ALL good things come to an end.

Looks like the New HRAudio will be classically oriented with little or no exposure to Jazz/Rock and POP SACDs and I will visit from time to time but it just will never be the same.

And I suppose in all fairness we should thank Zeus for allowing us to propogate the Rock Thread since I know he secretly despised this thread (along with Tweaker's Corner) since we ALL went off on tagents with non~SACD related (and taboo to SA~CD.net) topics (dualdisc, DVD~A, Blu Ray movies, French Tips etc.)
