Well blow me down if I don't like this album. Recommended by Ralph and sure enough, it's lovely. I'd only heard brief snippets of Diana Krall before on Amazon etc, but now that I've got an album playing through my main system, her voice just draws me in to her world.

I expected to want to fall asleep or turn it off because she seems to have a reputation of being fairly laid back with regard to her musical style, but I really like it!

More DK albums will be coming my way soon :)

UPDATE: I just bought a few more DK SACDs plus her Live In Paris BDV :)

Am really happy you're enjoying the music of Mrs. Elvis Costello, Derek.

The DK SACDs are relative bargains in today's market and as I mentioned, you can 'graduate' to her new SACD, Wallflowers (stereo only) which is really a very fine album. http://www.hraudio.net/showmusic.php?title=10978#tracks

Oh, is she Mrs Costello? Well done Elvis!

I've ordered the following m/c hybrid SACDs: The Look of Love, The Girl in the other room and When I look in your eyes. I like the track listing for Wallflower but alas I don't like the price because it's a few pounds North of the import VAT threshold so I'll wait till a cheaper copy pops up before ordering.

I bought a few Claire Martin SACDs a few years ago and although I like what she does, sometimes Claire takes the music too close to zippety bobity hardcore jazz that's on the border of what I can enjoy. On reflection, I think I bought Claire Martin's album hoping to hear the sort of music Diana does and as far as vocals go, I think I prefer Diana's vocal timbre too.

Diana Krall is a bit boring, Imo.

That said, I like "Love Scenes". I have both the hybrid SACD and the SHM-SACD. The latter sounds best; has the most "analogue" and unlimited sound picture.
