Great opportunity for me to post my rant about the Sony car SACD players on stereophile.com!

For those of us actively preaching the word about surround sound, what other magazine or stand-alone music-oriented sites would be a good place to get visible?

(Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to surf the web, but surround sound gets a good measure of what time I have)

I remember years ago Naxos talked about releasing DVD-As with much more than the usual playing time. But they didn't do it; all the DVD-As and SACDs were CD-length.

Actually, their Adventures of Robin Hood DVD-A is about 82 minutes. It's got about four minutes over the CD version...

I don't take a whole lot of stock in audiophile stuff since they decided that putting plastic covers on your cds makes them sound better, and I the most ridiculous is that CD QUALITY IS GOOD ENOUGH. Honestly, I hear alot of those guys say that the new cd transports make SACD obsolete which is preposterious. Sure upsampling an old CD to 384khz will make it sound better, but if it was transfered at 44.1 you've already lost the impulse response and even after the thousands of dollars for special player, it is still only 16 bit.

My freind has the Cabridge Audio player that upsamples to 24/384kz, and though it sounds nice, it does not match the quality of a mid priced SACD player.
