I Robot and Turn of a Friendly Card are both available as DSD Stereo Downloads over on Super Hi Rez.

Acoustic Sounds plans on doing both (SACD and DSD Download releases) going forward according to this comment from owner Chad Kassem at The Show Newport:

"Kassem also talked about the economics of SACD and DSD Download releases. He noted that music downloads opens up an interesting option. In some cases, a full SACD release may not pencil out, but a release of the music as a DSD Download will. So there are cases where the album comes out that way (as a download) vs. as an SACD."

I have all three Classic Records HDAD Alan Parson's DVD~As and my only gripe is, of course, the absence of multichannel.

Brian, I doubt AP's SACDs will rectify this situation since Alan Parson has, to my knowledge, never remixed these albums into surround but with the length of time AP takes to release SACD product....who knows.

Perhaps, like Amused to Death which was supposed to be a stereo only release (in Q sound), Alan Parsons may come forward with new 5.1 remixes for these "should be in surround" SACDs.

Any chance AP will release Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Parsons, as well?

Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 (1959) and Capriccio Italien (1958) with Szell/Cleveland. Please oh please!

Seeing that DSD logo on the back of my RBCD version of this disc taunts me so.

(yes, I know it's an old post, but the thread has been revived, so...)

Acoustic Sounds is very happy with the sales of the first two Alan Parsons in Stereo DSD Download. They are exploring the possibility of offering more.

Ralph,

Have you never noticed any audio oddities with regard to your "Eye in the Sky" DVD-A?

So many artists and recordings!

But what I am dreaming of: RCA living Stereo recordings of the Robert Shaw Chorale.

Then: Clavichord recordings, for example those made by R. Kirkpatrick for Archiv.

Then: Bach recordings made by H. Walcha on the Arp Schnitger Organ in Cappel.

Then: Bach's Matthew Passion by the Mauersberger brothers.

Then: many recordings made by B. Haitink, J. Barbirolli, ... and G.Szell!

I have written this is another thread, but no 1 on my wishlist is a truly awesome surround recording of Tod und Verklärung by Richard Strauss. And a Tacet-like recording of his Metamorphosen.

In my earphones right now is Myaskovsky's 25th Symphony, my favourite of his 27. So yes, thank you.

And while I'm at it, though I don't suppose there are such tapes, Deserter's Songs by Mercury Rev. The most beautiful record by any American rock group for many years.

Edit to my last post:
Grave error. Tod und Erklärung has of course gotten a great recording by Honeck this year, Reference Recordings (rarely has a company name been more appropriate than for that disc).
What I want is Also sprach Zarathustra
