http://www.teac.com/esoteric/Software.html, lists a phone number to place an order: 323-726-0303, ext. 749. Please note, I haven't tried the number myself.

The $59.95 price tag for this performance is absurd. The differences between this recording (including omission of the exposition repeat in the first movement), and Kertesz's 1966 recording with the London Symphony Orchestra (available in a 96k Hz, 24-bit remastered "Decca Originals" release, coupled with the 1962 recording of the 8th Symphony), make it clear that he himself had reservations about that first effort. Does this mean the earlier performance isn't good? No. My point is that it's not worth the premium price Teac is asking. Bring the price down to the level of other SACDs and it may be worth a look for a collector. But if you're having only one, considering the asking price and the performance, this isn't it. Making something difficult to get to increase demand and to command a ridiculous price (I simply MUST have it), is one of the oldest marketing tricks in the book (ask Bernie Madoff).

Given the lack of distribution, this seems hardly a commercial venture.

The first effort is 10 times the recording the 2nd one was with the LSO. This one is worth every penny and more the asking price.

Buy it, if you haven't already done so, and enjoy! I provided the phone number in my original post for those who share your interest in, and enthusiasm for, the release.

My thoughts exactly.

Not sure what number we should phone if we live outside the US...

Alex, the UK stocks haven't arrived, yet, but are due within a month. Contact Jack Lawson at audiosalon.co.uk.

By the way, lovers of Nielsen's works may be interested to know Jack Lawson wrote:

The one the only version that I would spend extra for, and it was worth it.

Is this a DSD or PCM master? If PCM, what sampling rate and bit depth?
