Will either the Concertgebouw/Davis set of the 12 Haydn London Symphonies, or, the English Chamber Orchestra/Leppard set of Bach Brandenburg Concertos, be remastered and released on SACD by Pentatone? If don't know if any of them were quad recordings.

These recordings are unfortunately no quadraphonic recordings and therefore not suitable for remastering and release on SA-CD

Cherubino, don't forget that there is one release of the London symphonies conducted by Davis on Pentatone - #99, coupled with #88 and Beethoven's 1st. It is worth having.

Reading an interview given the late Jimmy Lock mentions that Decca was recording in multi-channel in the early 70s. Like the Philips recordings these were never issued as multi-channel LP. The recordings included the Dorati Haydn symphonies, the Solti Tannhauser and the Karajan Butterfly. As they are from the same stable as the Philips is there any chance of SACD versions?

I would like to ask if there are any plans for releasing more opera or vocal recitals in SA-CD. Hopefully the Philips catalogue holds some more quadraphonic recordings ?

best, Oscar.

The Ameling's song cycles are wonderful. I bought all of them, and still hope there will be more.

I am most interested in 2 series from the Philips catalog:

1) The Colin Davis' Berlioz cycles (only 2 releases so far)

2) Jose Carreras full operas (only 1 release so far)

No more opera and no more Berlioz in quad format found in the Philips archives. Decca recording may (eventually) also be included in the RQR-series. EMI recordings also will be considered.

Best, PentaMan.
