JPC says ADD, so it looks like an older recording.

The abruckner website lists a September 08 recording by Blomstedt and Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, but on a different label. Also a 2000 recording on a different label.

Blomstedt made a recording of this for Decca some 15 years ago and it was rather lacklustre. Quite dull actually. Hopefully this new one is as good as his recent 7 & 8 for Querstand.

Judging by the cover, this is an MDR co-production. The other Blomstedt B6 is a Dresden SK performance on Profil, also live.

I think this is a re-hash of a much older recording. DSD cannot compensate for the limitations in recording techniques but it is welcome none the less. I don't see how they can get a legitimate MCh recording off original stereo tapes 'though.

Not necessarily - these forces performed this work in September 2008. ADD may be a misprint.

There IS a Decca recording of B6 with SFSO/Blomstedt, in case you are saying something else. That one is a carefully prepared performance, very well executed, but lacking in power - and yes I guess it's a bit dull after all.
