This release gives hope that HM France isn't cut off its SACD policy forever. Hope more releases will follow, though it seems to me that this SACD was recorded some time ago, before Nagano had moved to SONY/RCA.

I was really looking forward to this recording -- what a disappointment! For one thing, Dawn Upshaw, Gerald Finley, and Monica Groop are much better in the production conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. This is one instance where the video (DVD), which includes absorbing stage direction by Peter Sellars, is a much better option.
