LSO's web site says this is a "176.4kHz (high density PCM) recording":

The booklets of the SACDs I have: Dv6, Br3, Si3, Falstaff, Sh11 all have 'high density (DSD) recording', but on the website, one of the discs has 'DSD' without the tag of high density! Additionally, the RBCD booklet of 'les Troyens' says 'high definition DSD'.

Hello there Zeus.
I've been away listening to some live music this week. Salome live at the Budapest Opera! Now that would be something on SACD.Magnificent performance where production and music spoke the same language for a change !So good in fact that I went two nights !
I HATE weird "modern productions" of timeless Masterpieces!
In Stockholm they're doing Don Giovanni in a fifties US setting now. Idiots!
That said, I am still confused about the LSO Live Dvorak I reviewed here last week.
Like I said in my review; I'll rest my case against PCM if this is indeed a PCM recording.
But ,even on their site as quoted in your post it still says DSD!?
Where did you find the other info?
I know that Tony Faulkner has done quite a lot in high res PCM,but I fail to find any info on the LSO live site saying PCM for this recording,or for that matter for any other SACDs they have so far released.
All the best Chris

The recording is indeed DSD. I was contacted by Chaz from LSO Live who informed me that their web site is (or was) wrong. So there you have it.

I don't know Dvorak's sixth (or don't think I do) so I'll have to get this disc myself.

A great symphony with a lovely slow movement - I grew up with the BPO/Kubelik DG recording but recently have enjoyed the Mackerras Supraphon CD. The Chung DG CD is not quite so good IMHO.

This reminds me of the early days of CD, when announcers often informed us we were hearing something "from digital compact disc" - as if there were some analog compact disc, or any other digital medium then.

Marketing people are always going to be using terms they don't understand, often creating confusion among those who do understand them.
