I've got the Social Network soundtrack on regular CD and it sounds great. This is just the kind of recording that would be great on SACD. Is there anyone or a company I can petition to encourage an SACD release?

You'd have to turn to The Null Corporation -- Trent Reznor's label. I don't have high hopes though. Instead however, there is a high-resolution multi-channel edition of it, on Blu-ray Disc. See Strange thing is, the other editions (download, CD and vinyl) I can find on Amazon but not the BD-Audio one. If you do, please let me know.
BTW, if you like The Social Network OST you will probably also like Nine Inch Nails: The Downward Spiral which *is* out on SACD.

Interesting headline, totally appropriate for this forum most of the time!

Just ordered the BD audio disc from the Null Corporation for (US) $20 + s/tax. Whether Amazon will stock it is questionable.
Ironically, I paid $17 for the BD movie of the Social Network!
But, hey, Trent Reznor in 5.1 hi~rez audio! Great soundtrack, IMO.
Thanks for the heads~up!

I'm gonna contact Null Corp somehow.
But in the meanwhile, I've started this petition:

Maybe this will encourage Sony and Null to think more about the best audio format: DSD.
As I type this, am playing the BD audio of The Social Network......except for the fact that it comes in a digipak (no BD case) it does contain hi~rez 5.1 and stereo traks. Sounds pretty amazing.
And of course the movie is a SONY release, proudly displayed on the BD......and why they didn't include SACD (much like 2L Productions 2-fers) is another conundrum!
Essentially, BD audio is DVD~Audio (especially Dolby True HD which is MLP in disguise) but it does have a DTS Master Audio trak.
