Any chance of getting a Ravel cycle with Fischer? His cool, detached demeanor might make for some beautiful Ravel.

There have been a number of new Daphnis et Chloe recordings lately, but I'm still interested to hear Fischer in that.

For me, Munch's (for pennies) and Skrowaczewski's, (with Mother Goose), I'm happy for life. A new L'Enfant to beat Maazel's (or Ansermet's) would be nice, though their singers would be hard to beat.

I thought about Gergiev's Daphnis but his (IMHO) destructive micro-management--my last sore disappointment was the absolute pushed and pulled perversion of the Balcony Scene in Prokofiev's R & J--makes me want to steer clear.

That's great. Don't be sorry just yet - wait until you've heard ours, then weep. We of course have Pétroushka complete with the Sacre.

The Firebird complete plus fillers (Stravinsky: The Firebird; Sibelius: Canzonetta (orch.by Stravinsky); Chopin: Nocturne in A flat op.32 (orch. by Stravinsky 1900); Chopin: Grande valse brillante op.18 (orch. by Stravinsky 1909); Tchaikovsky: Bluebird-pas de deux (orch. by Stravinsky 1941)) will come later this year.

So we have a head-on clash. That'll prove interesting, we only want to compare with the few really good producers like you, so I challenge you.

Swords or pistol? Dawn of which date (that is, when will your be released?)?

Hugs - Robert
