Volume 1 is superb--I eagerly await this new one.

Could someone kindly explain to me why this SACD is so ludicrously over-priced at present?
Someone making a fast buck, again?
Think I'll wait for this one...

Yeah, for that much money, he should come over and personally play a piece for us!:-) It doesn't make much sense--his other Bach SACD is about 13 Euros. I'm hoping some less expensive alternative sources appear soon.

Can anyone that owns this title confirm that it is a stereo only release. I have Volume 1, and it is 5.0.
Thanks.

Mine is multi-channel. I slightly prefer the sound on this new one. Buy it with confidence! :-)

I'd like to refute Canonical's claim in his review that "one might perhaps be inclined to suggest that the disc is unsuccessful because both the violin and cello are better equipped to play counterpoint - to play (and sustain) one part, while others are free to move."
That's absolutely not true: counterpoint is far more difficult on a bowed instrument: this is where the guitar succeeds. Bowed instruments can more successfully sustain a single line, however.
