Fischer & his BFO appear at the Proms performing Brahms 3 & 4, so I hope there may be sessions following these concerts.

I noticed that the BFO will be at Philharmonic Hall in NYC this June, and performing the Dvorak Piano and Violin Concerti. Any chance Channel will be recording these works?

The Brahms 4th is already recorded and hope to get this out this fall.
We were going to record the 3rd after the tour in September, but it seems that there are not enough free days from the orchestra to do this. It will be done probably next year.

Thanks

Jared

I very much prefer the jewel boxes in the Channel range to their digipaks, and I try to avoid buying digipak issues. The digipaks tend to deteriorate with time ... the paper card wears on the edges, dust and humidity enters at the top, and if the little plastic spindles break (that hold the CD/SACD in place), well ... it's all over. Kaput.

By contrast, I am always happy to replace a CD jewel box if needed, and then you are back to fresh like new in a jiffy.

a couple years ago I was able to buy several super jewel boxes - it is a small project to convert but worth doing if the digipak is not to one's liking.

This is also already recorded but we collectively decided to bring out the 4th first, the 2nd third and the third 4th.
(that was fun to type!)

Hi Jared,

Very excited about the upcoming Brahms symphonies.

I was wondering if there are any more Brahms piano concertos in the works.

(Apologies in advance if this question has already been answered. I get the feeling this has come up before.)

The June 2, 2014 New Yorker has a story on Fischer and the BFO, and it describes in some detail recording sessions for Tchaikovsky's Pathetique symphony.
