What a dream release the complete Orchestral Works of Debussy by Jean Martinon. Please EMI/UK release this in your country so normal people can afford it. All the work was done by EMI/Japan it should not cost much to issue them in the UK after all EMI is British.

The one performance worth waiting for is the Carl Nielsen 4th Symphony along with the Helios overture that Martinon recorded with the CSO, a blazing performance, it is the finest 4th on record and definitely deserves a SACD remaster.

The price is rather moderate for a japan release, if you order it from CDJapan directly (less than 70 Euro / 90 USD for 4 discs). I don't think a domestic release in the US and Europe would be much cheaper.

"Normal" people buy the Brilliant Classics CD box for $10 ;-)

What a shame they released it only in stereo. I was really hoping that we would have this in the original 4 channel sound.

What a nonsense to reissue this as a Japan Stereo SACD given that most of it should be quadro recordings ! For that the EMI RBCD box of Debussy and Ravel are completely sufficient.

Has there ever been a japan-only multichannel reissue, of any genre? Not counting those Warner JSACDs which reused a previous DVD-A remix.

It seems the japanese public doesn't care at all about multichannel. There are stereo-only SHM-SACDs of albums which have previously been released on multichannel SACD.

Strange that people are asked to pay double for half the original! Oh well, it's only money...
