An SACD of 30 minutes for 37 euros/49 dollar!! They could have combined it with the almost perfect performance of the 7th symphony.
Of course this price won't stop me from buying it.

Two tickets to the concert would have cost you $150 and you'd have heard it only once.

By the way nobody complained about timings and pricing when vinyl was the only medium.

Keeping a healthy perspective is a handy tool throughout one's life.

There were a lot of complaints about short measure in the golden days of vinyl.

+1 And MY healthy perspective is that I can buy the same performance on vinyl or CD and get at least 90% of the sound quality of the SACD for a fraction of the price and have enough left to buy another, more reasonably priced SACD. Of course there are a few very special performances I'm willing to pay top dollar for in order to get the best possible sound quality (i.e., 45 rpm vinyl reissues or original pressings, SHM SACDs, etc.). However, this title is not one of them.

I, too, remember the complaining when the Orfeo LP was released.

Carlos's records are nearly as rare as hen's teeth, so let's be grateful for what we have-- especially on SACD.

I meant before even then!!! Maybe you don't remember when the first stereo LP's arrived?

But those were new recordings and a new technique. This Kleiber performance is almost 20 years old.

I seem to remember hearing howls of complaints when those "short" LP's finally made in on to CD's....I distinctly remember my own growls of displeasure back in late 1987,'88, '89 etc when my favorite LP made it to CD and then find that that CD had only 38 minutes of music....surprise!!!! HAHAHAHA

Oh well, I got over that years ago....did not one of the MTT/SFSO Mahler's two disc sets have a 2nd SACD that only had one movement?? (Sorry, I do not have access to my MTT/Mahler collection..but it brings to mind Carl Sagan's comment about us being the only life in the universe "sure seems like a waste of space")

Cheers,
