Electric Light Orchestra would be great too.

E~mail Marshall Blonstein @ AF with your request(s). I just sent him an e~mail last night and he promptly replied today. Visit AF website and click onto "contact."

He's an amazingly responsive CEO.

Found 5 upcoming Ozawa-Boston-Symphony-SACDs (Ravel, de Falla, Respighi, Brahms) announced for 20th of May 2015, probably SHM-SACDs.

rammie based on your discussions, do you understand what back catalogs they have access to? I can't say that I particularly like the choice of (MC) releases so far, and I am curious what that might be able to choose among. I am guessing that many of the MC discs I would most like to see released are out of bounds for them.

There are a number of roadblocks preventing the release of back catalogue titles in QUAD as I was led to believe: If MoFi or AP have released current stereo SACDs AF won't touch them....professional courtesy, I surmise.

Some of the QUAD tapes are unusable. They didn't survive for one reason or another or might've been lost.

The majors won't license the titles to the reissue companies...perhaps they are saving them for future re~release as box sets, etc., on their OWN labels.

Michael Jackson's Thriller, for instance, has seen Multiple 5.1 remix 'attempts' but Jackson, himself, was NOT satisfied with the final results and nixed it.

And I'm sure the CEO's making the decisions on what to release have "guilty" pleasures of their own which receive preferential treatment.

Join the club, diw......that club being we'd all like to see OUR personal favorites re~released in Quad or 5.1 but that would mean we'd have to start our own re~release companies and fat chance of that happening.

There is also the opposition of some artists who prefer not to tamper with their original recordings....meaning a no go for any chance of it being released in surround.

Lastly, the chance of seeing new material remixed will be more up to the individual artists as the cost of such an endeavor is prohibitive for the reissue companies. With Elliot Scheiner on board at Audio Fidelity, who knows? Never say NEVER! He's a seasoned pro with a LOT of clout within the music industry.

Another one: Harry Nilsson, Nilsson Schmilsson. That one would be a big seller.

Including also Shostakovich's 2nd Cello Concerto, with Rostopovich (and BSO). Originally on DGG (now Universal Japan). With a Glazunov filler.

Thanks for the hint. I contacted them thru the website about the delay in the release of 'The Friends of Mr Cairo' by Jon and Vangelis and he replied that unfortunately the record label put the release on hold :( They don't know when or if they will be allowed to work on that title. I am so disappointed. I love that album. I often listen to the record but there are some pops on it that I could live without.

Just read your post today, Epsilon. Had NO idea they were working on "The Friends of Mr. Cairo" one of my absolute favorite guilty pleasures (Jon Anderson/Vangelis). Have the original CD pressing and have always admired the sonics but can only imagine what a properly mastered SACD release would sound like. Would also be a brilliant contender for a proper 5.1 remix (Imagine THAT)? http://www.izlesene.com/video/the-friends-of-mr-cairo-emotional-cut-jon-vangelis-hd-video/6469129?utm_source=player&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=player_clicktag_izlesene_embed

In the meantime, (sorry if this is old news), Universal is releasing 6 Bryan Ferry "classics" on SHM~SACD and they should be out by months end.....April 29th.

Titles are: Boys & Girls/Let's Stick Together/These Foolish Things/In Your Mind/The Bride Stripped Bare/Another Time, Another Place.

ALL are 2015 DSD mastered from the original UK analogue master tapes and come in mini~LP style packaging.

The hmv jp website lists all of Bernstein's late 1970's VPO Beethoven cycle, along with his BPO Mahler 9 [ presumably the same performance released by Esoteric ] as imminent Japanese SHM SACDs.

Does anyone on this site know if the Unitel/DG videos of Bernstein's VPO Beethoven symphonies enshrine the same performances as the CD issues? I'd been hoping the various Bernstein and Karajan videos of the symphonic repertoire from the 1970s would make it onto bluray with good sound from the analogue audio masters.
