This is a fantastic recording from the superb audio quality to the virtuosic, passionate playing. I'm glad someone finally recorded the original version of the Sonata. It might meander a bit, but I find the orgy of notes more enthralling than the slimmed-down revised version. I wish he had recorded the First Sonata instead of the Morceaux since there are other fine SACD performances of them (the Corelli, too), but it's still a highly enjoyable release.

Thanks for the heads-up. Agree on your comments about both sonatas. Some more recordings of the Etudes would also be welcome.
