.. a good number of them still readily available at sensible prices too.
Mobile Fidelity is issuing new SACDs of Miles Davis recordings transferred straight from the original masters to DSD without added EQ or compression, at $30 list price. Some are available for less through Amazon.com third-party sellers. This new series includes titles previously released in Japan.
Miles Davis: In A Silent Way Miles Davis: Milestones...... Miles Davis: ‘Round About Midnight
The pool of high-quality reissues of classic jazz albums on SACD continues to expand. But if you want to experience what acoustic jazz can sound like recorded with present-day high-rez and MCH technology, you really should pick up a few releases on the Songlines and Challenge Jazz labels while they're still available at very reasonable prices. The Enrico Pieranunzi trio SACDs on Challenge surpass ECM for audio realism, and the performances aren't shabby, either.

SO many wonderful recommendations - I cannot thank you enough - please keep them coming. There are so many of these I know I want to buy but at these prices it will be like one or two a month - he says haha.

I only have 40+ SA-CD that were purchased over the past 3 years. I was highly selective of the titles purchased and as a result, I enjoy them much more than if I just bought everything in sight all at once.
BTW, you'll enjoy your new multi-channel SA-CD of "Time Out". I found it to be a significant upgrade of the Sony remastered RBCD.
And as another mentioned in this thread, I too would like to see AP release "Time Further Out" as well.

I am loving Jungle Boldie - thank you so much. Can't wait to try your other recommendations.
You're a discerning music lover. Agree with SteelyTom about Pieranunzi/Shorter -- an outstanding piano trio session with demonstration quality sonics. Happy listening!

I am totally stunned by the quality of "Time Out" and now feel it was worth every penny spent. As you say be discerning and the rewards are manifold.
Cannot wait for Miles Davis: Kind of Blue to arrive from Japan now.

I would be waiting for the Mobile Fidelity version. If 'Round About Midnight is any indication that version will trump all others. Miles Davis: ‘Round About Midnight
If you want some pure DSD that isnt a Japanese import, try the Leslie Pintchik recordings on Ambient, they are not too adventurous, and should be reasonably priced.
