Performance:   Sonics:
If you want a reference quality Stereo SACD this is it. Each instrument is featured at least one time on the album. The sound quality is clean with a definite "you are there" sound. When listening I can pinpoint the location of each instrument, and that includes being able to determine whether one instrument is a little closer or further away than another. Unfortunately there is not much info on the recording equipment originally used or how it was converted to SACD, i.e. from analog tapes to DSD or PCM to DSD. I have several SACD's, most of them with excellent sound quality, but this one is just a level or two above anything I've yet heard in this format. The liner notes say "...the sonic quality of this album...should satisfy the most discerned audiophile listener. It might become one of the most treasured CDs in his collection." That is true in my case. Great music and great sound!!
